Reason #113 why I love where I live
So opposite my house is a tiny little shop that sells almost everything you could imagine a tiny little shot selling. I went in there to get a curry sauce to make a really boring, basic curry with and the guy was like “we do home-made curry for £3”.
It turns out there’s a freezer cabinet at the back which is stacked full of these containers of a dozen different type of homemade, vegetarian curries that his wife makes. So instead of Lloyd Grossman’s doubtless disappointing Balti for dinner I’ve got authentic Dhansak with lentils and vegetables and a home-made samosa.
I love that shop.
